Digitalization kills cancer!
yeswecan!cer has a mission. It aims to step up media attention to cancer, to put affected people in contact with each other, to encourage communication and to promote self-help, empowerment and resilience. The initiative uses the opportunities presented by digitalization and social media to campaign for authentic, open, positive communication about cancer. yeswecan!cer also works to strengthen patients' rights in relation to data use.
The initiative was started by media entrepreneur Jörg A. Hoppe after he received a cancer diagnosis in 2016. yeswecan!cer is supported by numerous scientists, artists, well-known people from media, film and television, sportspeople, influencers and companies.
One out of every two people in Germany will get cancer at some time in their lives. yeswecan!cer helps these people, puts them in contact with others and informs them about new research work and treatment options.
A cancer diagnosis is a life-changing, watershed moment that throws up numerous questions. It helps to find out how other people have coped in the same situation. Patients and their loved ones can use the YES!APP to discuss their experiences with other people and ask for advice.
yeswecan!cer receives support and advice from an Advisory Board made up of distinguished doctors and cancer specialists. A group of experts from politics, business and the media acts as a sounding board to help with strategic direction and networking.
